A solo dark comedy show by Zac Carr, described as part one-man show, part dead-acting class, and wrapped in grief.
Zac Carr brings his solo show Yer Gonna Die (Just Like Me) to Crashbox on Friday, July 31, and Saturday, August 1. It's a one-weekend-only run, with both nights starting at 8 PM.
Carr wrote and performed the piece himself, and he describes it as part one-man show, part dead-acting class on how to be a dead body onstage, and wrapped in grief, playing out as a sincerely dark comedy. It runs 60 minutes and is presented in full color at Crashbox. The show won Best of Fest at FronteraFest 2024 at Austin's Hyde Park Theater and was later experimented on at ColdTowne Theater in October 2025.
Behind the scenes, the production is directed by Anthony Ellison, with photography by Minerva Villa and lights and sound by Sam Accettulli. It's a small cast on stage—just Carr—but the support comes from a full creative team. The show is a solo dark comedy, so you'll be spending the hour with him alone up front.
