A queer book club meeting at BookPeople to discuss 'Mistress of Lies' by K.M. Enright.
Y'all Means All is meeting at BookPeople on Wednesday, August 26, to talk about Mistress of Lies, the first book in K.M. Enright's The Age of Blood series. The discussion starts at 7 PM on the third floor, in the café.
If you haven't come across them before, Y'all Means All is a queer book club that celebrates queer joy across a wide range of genres. They don't stick to one corner of the bookstore; their reading list pulls from adult fiction and non-fiction, young adult, middle grade, and graphic novels. They describe their program as a variety pack of queer stories, and this meeting fits right into that—Mistress of Lies is the opening volume of a series, so it's a good place to jump in if you're starting Enright's work from the beginning.
The meeting is free to attend, and since it's held in the café on the third floor of BookPeople, you can grab a drink and settle in for the conversation. It's a queer-focused group, so the discussion will center on the book from that perspective, and it's open to anyone who's read it and wants to talk it through with other readers. If you're looking for a queer reading community in Austin, this is one of the more inclusive ones around, and they keep the focus on queer joy rather than just the harder parts of the experience.
