WILLIS play Brushy Street Commons on Friday, July 31, from 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM. It's an afternoon set in East Austin, so you'll be out of there before the evening rush even starts.

If you haven't been to Brushy Street Commons, it's worth knowing what you're walking into. The venue occupies the sound stage of the historic 501 Studios building in the heart of East Austin, a room that doubles as a spot for food, drinks, and live music. Those walls carry more than thirty years of local and national history: countless commercials were shot there, and Austin legends Stevie Ray Vaughan and Willie Nelson both filmed music videos on that same stage.

Beyond the music, the space has a strange, specific kind of fame. Universal Pictures dressed the room for the 1981 film Raggedy Man, starring Sissy Spacek and Eric Roberts. And for more than a decade, every Texas Lottery drawing that named weekly millionaires was drawn and broadcast from that very same space. So when you're there for the show, you're standing in a room that's been a movie set, a music video backdrop, and the site of a lot of people's sudden fortunes.

WILLIS is an indie band, and this is a straight-ahead concert—no opening acts or long bills to work through. The set runs from 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM on Friday, July 31, at Brushy Street Commons in East Austin.
