An all-ages queer open mic night featuring poetry, singing, drag and storytelling, hosted by Munster Mash and presented by Sana Sana.
Sana Sana presents What is scarier: Halloween or AI? at Ani's Day & Night on Tuesday, October 6. It's an all-ages queer open mic, and the title isn't just a question for the flyersβthe night is built around it. The performers on stage work through the month's theme, and the audience is invited to find the answer within the acts. The bill brings together poetry, singing, drag, storytelling, and show-and-tell, so you'll see a fair bit of variety in one sitting. The whole thing is hosted by Munster Mash.
Ani's Day & Night is a South Austin coffee house and live-performance venue with a dense calendar of music nights and community events. It hosts everything from stand-up comedy and cumbia nights to witch fests, burlesque and queer storytelling. It's home to the Standup Pa Todos comedy showcase, the Hobo Gobbelins, and the Up in Smoke Cabaret's drag and burlesque shows. It also houses Queer Mountain, a storytelling space that centers stories from marginalized LGBTQIA+ communities and provides ASL interpreters on site.
