Live two-step dancehall music featuring Weldon Henson and Matt Mouton at the historic Broken Spoke venue.
Weldon Henson and Matt Mouton are back at the Broken Spoke on Tuesday, August 18, for another night of country music. It's a pairing that's become a regular fixture of the Tuesday night there, with the two splitting the evening between the restaurant and the dancehall.
Matt Mouton takes the first shift, playing in the restaurant from 6 PM to 8 PM. If you're coming early for dinner, that's where you'll find him. The Broken Spoke is known for its homestyle meals, with its chicken fried steak being the one most people talk about, so it's a good spot to settle in with some food before the night really gets going.
Weldon Henson, who hails from Humble, Texas, takes over at 8 PM in the two-step dancehall. That's where the evening shifts from a dinner crowd to a dance floor, and Henson is a regular part of that Tuesday night tradition. The dancehall is the heart of the place, and that's where the two-stepping happens.

For context, the Broken Spoke has been around since 1964, when it was established by James M. White, and it's billed as the 'Last of the True Texas Dancehalls.' Country music fills the room Tuesday through Saturday, with bands like Ian Stewart, Paula Russell, Tracie Lynn, Pierson Saxon, Dan Whitaker and Manny Velazquez all making appearances. If you're looking to learn the steps, Terri White leads two-step dance lessons from Wednesday to Saturday, 8 PM to 9 PM.
On Tuesday, the cover is $10 for the two-step dancehall, and there's no cover for the restaurant portion. So if you're just in for the food and Mouton's set, you're set; if you want to stay for Henson and the dancing, it's $10. Matt Mouton plays the restaurant from 6 PM to 8 PM, and Weldon Henson takes the dancehall at 8 PM.
