Live music night at Broken Spoke featuring Matt Mouton and Weldon Henson performing dancehall.
Weldon Henson is back at the Broken Spoke on Tuesday, August 4, for another night of dancehall. He's the regular Tuesday night fixture there, and this is one of those nights that's more about the dance floor than the stage.
The evening starts early with Matt Mouton playing in the restaurant from 6 PM to 8 PM, so if you want to get some food in before the dancing kicks off, that's your window. At 8 PM, Henson takes over for the dancehall set, and that's when the floor really opens up. Henson hails from Humble, Texas, and he's a regular part of the Spoke's weekly rotation.
For a bit of context on the place, the Broken Spoke is billed as the 'Last of the True Texas Dancehalls.' It was established in 1964 by James M. White and serves homestyle meals, including its famous chicken fried steak. The venue hosts live country music Tuesday through Saturday, and Two-Step Tuesdays with Weldon Henson is its regular Tuesday night fixture.
