Concert by the Swedish bedroom noise-pop project Weatherday, presented by Resound Presents at the 29th Street Ballroom.
Weatherday plays the 29th Street Ballroom on Thursday, October 15, presented by Resound. It's a single-bill night, so the whole set belongs to them.
Weatherday is the bedroom noise-pop project of Sputnik, a Swedish artist who works under his own name. If you're coming from the record, the one that really put him on the map was Come in, a cult-acclaimed album that built him a dedicated following. It's known for a raucous musical universe and what's been called serpentine sparklepunk stylings—a description that pretty much sums up the sound: noisy, melodic, and a bit off-kilter. The album got its first vinyl release through Topshelf Records in 2021, and that's where a lot of the buzz started.
Sputnik doesn't stop at Weatherday, either. He's found success with a side project called Lola's Pocket PC, so there's a bit more to his output than just this one moniker. Between the two, he's spent a fair amount of time working in that bedroom-pop tradition—building things out on his own before they ever hit a stage.
