A free, nonpartisan festival with music, movement, vendors and voting registration at Central Machine Works in East Austin.
Voter Fest takes over Central Machine Works in East Austin on Saturday, October 24, from 11 AM to 2 PM. It's a free, nonpartisan early voting celebration hosted by the Texas Voter Project, and the timing is the whole point: October 24 is the only Saturday of the early voting period when Austinites can cast their ballots, so they've built a party around it. The day is split into three distinct tracks, so you can pick your own speed.
The Active Party is for the morning crowd, with a two-mile neighborhood run and a group workout. The Smarty Party is where you can learn to line dance and pick up election and candidate information from nonpartisan civic partners. The After Party brings in DJs and open dancing. Between those, local vendors and activations like loteria, flash tattoos, tarot, and permanent jewelry fill out the afternoon. If you're one of the first 100 people to RSVP, you walk away with a free breakfast taco.
