Album release party for Very Old Morris, featuring alt-country and Americana music.
Very Old Morris plays the Cactus Cafe on Thursday, October 1, for an album release party. The show starts at 7 PM, and Marley Hale opens.
Very Old Morris is the project of San Antonio singer-songwriter Jerid Reed Morris. He was born into the family of a minor fundamentalist cult leader and raised itinerantly across Texas and Alaska. He left home at sixteen for Bible college, unenrolled a year later, and returned to Texas emancipated. He records and releases music under the name Very Old Morris, which he took from a favorite bourbon whiskey label.
The night is built around his second full-length record, Boogedy Boogedy Boogedy Shoop, which comes out in October 2026. The sound sits across alt-country, country, indie rock, and Americana. It's a broad stretch of territory, but that's the general neighborhood he works in.
