Trivia night with Texas Performing Arts; teams compete for prizes including tickets to upcoming TPA performances.
Texas Performing Arts is hosting a trivia night at Barrel O'Fun on Monday, September 21. It's called TPA Trivia Night - Live at the Drafthouse, and it's exactly what it sounds like: a night of trivia run by the folks at Texas Performing Arts, held at one of the city's taprooms.
The format is straightforward. You put together a team, grab a table, and go head-to-head with other groups throughout the night. The questions will center around the performing arts, so if you've spent your time keeping up with theater, dance, and music, you'll have a leg up. It's the kind of thing that rewards the person on the team who can name a random playwright or remember a specific choreographer, but it's just as much about the team effort as it is about individual knowledge.
There are prizes on the line, too. The winning teams walk away with tickets to upcoming Texas Performing Arts performances, so if you've been meaning to catch a show but haven't pulled the trigger yet, this is a way to get in without spending your own money. It's a nice trade: a few hours of trivia for a night out at the theater later in the season.
