Kelly is a singer-songwriter from Wildomar, California, who first appeared on Season 9 of American Idol. She spent the years after that building a following on YouTube and released her first EP, Handmade Songs, independently in 2012. She signed with Capitol Records the following year and put out the major-label EP Foreword. Her discography since then includes Unbreakable Smile (2015), the two-time Grammy-winning Hiding Place (2018), Inspired by True Events (2019), A Tori Kelly Christmas (2020), and her self-titled TORI. (2024).

Outside of the music, she voiced Meena in the 2016 animated feature Sing and returned for the 2021 sequel Sing 2. The Moody Center show is part of The Jesus Generation Tour, which brings her back to the stage with Forrest Frank, Cory Asbury, and The Figs sharing the bill.
