A toddler yoga class where children and grown-ups stretch, move, dance, hear stories, and practice breathing tools in an outdoor setting.
ATX Yoga Girl leads a toddler yoga class at Pease District Park on Wednesday, October 14, from 10 AM to 10:45 AM. It's a session for toddlers and their grown-ups to move together on the Great Lawn, and it's free and open to the public.
The class is built for the little ones: age-appropriate yoga and movement mixed with breathing, poses, games, stories, music, relaxation and meditation. While the kids are stretching and dancing, they're also working on fine and gross motor skills, social and group skills, and getting a first look at mindfulness and calming tools. It's designed for you to do alongside them, so you're part of the movement rather than just watching from the sidelines.
The session is part of Pease Park's 'Health & Wellness in our Backyard' series, a run of free outdoor events hosted throughout the park. The Great Lawn also hosts the Sunday Social, Gather & Flow's monthly community gathering that pairs an all-levels yoga class with coffee and conversation.

The park itself sits on what was once the 365-acre Woodlawn homestead owned by former Texas Governor E. M. Pease and his wife Lucadia. While the governor supported the Union during the Civil War, research has found that at least 37 people were directly enslaved or leased as enslaved labor by the Pease family. The class runs from 10 AM to 10:45 AM on Wednesday, October 14, at the Great Lawn, and it's free.
