An intimate, fully improvised evening led by Shannon Stott where audience suggestions shape a communal story-sharing experience.
Shannon Stott brings This Is (Y)our Story to Central Austin for three nights: Thursday, July 23, Friday, July 24, and Sunday, July 26. It's an improvised theatrical experience that builds itself out of the audience's real-life experiences, turning a room of strangers into a table of friends. Stott is an award-winning improviser and an international community guide, and she describes the evening as being grounded in traditional hospitality, global community building, and communal story-sharing.
Rather than a traditional performance where you just sit and watch, the show invites you to break bread, share laughs, and pour tea together. The tagline, "We Break Bread We Share Secrets We Spill Tea," gives you a good sense of the vibe—it's more of a gathering than a play. The whole thing is informed by audience suggestions, so the stories that come out of it depend on who's in the room and what they're willing to share. The Austin Chronicle's James Scott named it a Staff Pick.
