This Could Have Been a Debate: James Talarico Town Hall

James Talarico is holding a town hall at Hotel Vegas on Wednesday, October 14, from 6 PM to 8:30 PM. It's presented by CNN and Jubilee, and the whole thing is being broadcast live on CNN, where Talarico will be answering questions directly from Texans. The night is set up as a watch party on the Hotel Vegas Jumbotron, so you'll be watching the broadcast with a crowd in the room.

There's a specific bit of context that gives the evening its title: This Could Have Been a Debate. The town hall is being held while Ken Paxton refuses to face Talarico on the debate stage, so Talarico is taking his case directly to the people instead. That's the core of the night—Talarico answering questions from Texans in real time, with the broadcast carrying it out to a wider audience.

Since it's a watch party, the action is on the Jumbotron. You'll be seeing Talarico take those questions live, and the room will be watching along with everyone else. It's less of a traditional town hall where you might expect to be the only one in the room and more of a shared experience, with the CNN broadcast as the main event.

It's happening on the Hotel Vegas patio, and entry is free. The event is 21+, so you'll need your ID. It runs from 6 PM to 8:30 PM on Wednesday, October 14, at Hotel Vegas in Austin.
