Therapy Gecko Live

Therapy Gecko is coming to The State Theatre on Friday, September 25, as part of the Stateside at the Paramount series. The show is presented by Moontower Comedy.

If you've come across him online, you know the deal: he goes by Therapy Gecko, or Lyle Forever, or just Geck. He's a social media sensation who calls himself an unlicensed therapist, and the whole thing sits somewhere between a comedy show and a human-interest story. The format is simple—he talks through strangers' problems and dreams, and those stories can run from the wholesome to the completely bizarre. On stage, he performs with a gecko and green face paint, a combination that's struck a chord with millions of fans. The Austin show follows that same setup, with audience members conversing with the gecko on stage about what's on their minds.

It's a touring act that's played the US, Europe, Australia, and Japan, and he's done sets at major music festivals like Bonnaroo, Electric Forest, and Beyond Wonderland. He also runs a podcast that's hosted a wide range of guests, from Doja Cat, Lil Yachty, and Denzel Curry to Eric Andre, Danny Brown, and Bobby Lee.

The show is at The State Theatre, 713 Congress Ave, with doors opening at 6 PM and the show starting at 7 PM.
