Live music performance and record signing by Austin power trio The Well, celebrating their new album at Waterloo Records.
The Well are playing Waterloo Records on Thursday, October 1, for an in-store performance and record signing. The show is presented by Resound Presents and centers on the band's new album, ...And Flames Ran Like Living Animals, which you can pick up in person during the event.
If you're not already familiar, The Well is an Austin power trio. They play a heavy blend of psych, doom, and rock 'n' roll that's drawn comparisons to Black Sabbath, Electric Wizard, Sleep, and Uncle Acid. It's a sound built on the slow, distorted side of the spectrum, so this is a good one to catch if you're into doom and stoner rock.
Waterloo Records is Austin's reigning record emporium, and it's worth noting that it moved in August 2025 to a new, bigger space a few blocks up the road. The new location adds a bar and a podcast studio to the mix, and the store continues to host in-store performances by touring acts and locals celebrating new album releases, with no preference for musical genre. These shows typically start on weekdays and wrap up with artist signings, and the store stays open for business throughout.
