Concert by the rock band The War on Drugs at the Destination Defender venue in Austin.
The War on Drugs play Destination Defender on Thursday, October 8, 2026. It's a single-bill night with the band taking the full stage.
They've spent the last 15 years pulling from a wide spread of rock's corners—folk, indie, kosmische, noise, roots, psychedelic, arena, and soft—and weaving them into one sound. It's a broad reach that works across the underground and the mainstream, and that's where they've made their name. They're from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and the band is fronted by Adam Granduciel, with Anthony Lamarca, Robbie Bennett, David Hartley, Jon Natchez, and Charlie Hall filling out the lineup.
Their fifth studio album, I Don't Live Here Anymore, is described as their most compulsive and bold set of songs to date. It's the record they've been touring, and you'll hear it live alongside the older material they've built their reputation on. The set will draw from that new material and the catalog that came before it.
