The Red Clay Strays present their Way Too Long Tour, a blend of rockabilly and gospel, at Moody Center.
The Red Clay Strays bring their Way Too Long Tour to Moody Center on Sunday, September 19, 2027, starting at 7 PM. They're an Alabama band that's moved fast over the last few years, and this is part of a run that puts their live show center stage.
They formed in Mobile in 2016 and have built their sound around a mix of outlaw country, gospel-soul, and Southern rock. Brandon Coleman handles lead vocals and guitar, with Drew Nix on guitar and vocals, Zach Rishel on guitar, Andrew Bishop on bass, and John Hall on drums. That's three guitars in the lineup, which gives them plenty of room to lean into the rock and country sides of their sound at the same time.
Their rise really took off with Moment of Truth, the record they self-released in 2022. It gave them the breakout single "Wondering Why," which hit the Top 10 of Billboard's Hot Rock & Alternative Songs chart and earned them Emerging Artist of the Year at the 2024 Americana Honors & Awards. From there, they signed to RCA Records in 2024 and released Made by These Moments that same year, produced by Grammy winner Dave Cobb. That album debuted in the Top 10 of the Billboard Top Country Albums chart and picked up three awards in the following two years: the 2025 ACM Award for New Duo or Group of the Year, the 2025 CMA Award for Vocal Group of the Year, and the 2026 ACM Award for Group of the Year. Their third album, Grateful, came out in June 2026, also produced by Cobb.
