Concert by the pop-punk and punk rock band The Queers at Come and Take It Live in Austin.
The Queers are playing Come and Take It Live on Sunday, August 23, with the show starting at 7 PM. It's a straightforward bill: they're the only act on the poster, so you'll get a full set from them without any opening bands to work through first.
If you're not already familiar, The Queers are a pop punk and punk band. That's the whole of it—fast, loud, and built on the kind of melodies that stick in your head long after the set is over. It's the kind of music that doesn't ask much of you other than to stand up and move, and since they're the sole feature of the night, the whole evening is built around that sound. No support, no distractions, just them on stage.
The venue is Come and Take It Live, over at 2015 E Riverside Dr. It's a spot that's hosted plenty of punk and rock shows, so it fits the bill. If you've been there before, you know the drill; if not, it's an easy enough trip to the East Riverside area.
