The Peterson Brothers are back at Saxon Pub on Tuesday, September 22, as part of their residency at the South Lamar spot. It's a duo—Glenn Jr. on vocals and guitar, and Alex, who's a GRAMMY award-winning artist. Both were born and raised here in Austin, and they've been playing together for over a decade.
Their sound is a blend of Americana that pulls from a few different places: classic soul, funk, blues and jazz, all mixed with the Texas blues traditions they grew up with. They describe it as a mix of those styles and infectious grooves, and the live show is built around jam-band improvisation, so the set changes from night to night. The residency has become a regular fixture of the city's music scene, with the duo playing the same room week after week.
