Glenn and Alex Peterson are Austin born and raised, and they've built their name as one of the city's more high-energy live acts. Their sound sits in that Americana space, but it pulls in a lot more than just folk and country. They lean heavily on deep-rooted blues traditions and mix them with soul, funk, R&B and infectious grooves. It's the kind of set that works as well for dancing as it does for just sitting and listening.

The Saxon Pub is on the other end of the city from some of the newer spots, but it's a classic Austin room. If you've been looking for a reason to head that way on a weekday, this is a good one.
