Comedy open mic night for new and seasoned comedians at Sunset Strip Comedy Club.
The Mike is back at Sunset Strip Comedy Club on Monday, August 17, as part of its weekly comedy open mic night. It's a room where new and seasoned comedians turn up to road-test brand-new material in front of an audience, so you'll hear a mix of folks just starting out and veterans working through their latest bits.
That's the whole point of an open mic like this: it's a workshop. Comedians use these slots to see what lands and what doesn't, which means you're getting a first look at jokes that might end up in a special or a headlining set later on. Because it's an open mic, the lineup changes every week, and the material is often raw and in progress. You'll hear a few people who've been doing this for years alongside newcomers who might be stepping on stage for one of the first times.
