Immersive pop-up restaurant themed around the TV show The Golden Girls, featuring character-inspired dishes, photo opportunities and themed events.
The Golden Girls Kitchen opens Thursday, August 20, at Wanderlust Wine Co. downtown, 610 N. Interstate Hwy 35. It's an immersive pop-up restaurant by Bucket Listers, the same group that brought the Broadway Sing-Along Bar to Austin in the summer of 2025. This one is staged in partnership with Disney Entertainment as part of a nationwide tour.
The space is a loose copy of the show's famous kitchen set, so you'll recognize the dark wood-style cabinets, chintzy tablecloths, and decorative plates on the walls. The menu nods to the characters: Sophia's lasagna al forno comes in meat or vegan, Blanche has a Georgia-style cookie, and there's a 'Bacon Lettuce Potato Sandwich (Say It Fast).' Every meal finishes with cheesecake, the Girls' go-to snack.
Beyond dinner, the room has photo ops and an exclusive merch store. There are also drag brunches by local performers, sing-along events, and trivia nights, so it's more than just a place to eat. If you're a fan of the show, it's a good excuse to spend an afternoon in a version of the house you've seen a thousand times on screen.
