Live blues and roots music performance by The Flowertones at the historic Lamberts venue in Austin.
The Flowertones play Lamberts on Saturday, August 22, from 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM. It's a single-bill night with the band as the main feature, so the whole evening is built around their set.
If you haven't spent much time there, Lamberts is at 401 W. Second in downtown Austin. The venue is the revamped J.P. Schneider Store, which dates back to 1873, and it's been run by Larry McGuire, Tom Moorman Jr., and Will Bridges since 2006. It's a two-story spot: a barbecue joint downstairs and a bar upstairs, and the upstairs is where you'll find the stage for nightly live music, local beers, and slow-smoked barbecue. It's the kind of place where you can grab a plate and a drink before the music starts and just hang out.

Since it's a Saturday night downtown, it's an easy one to build around. The set runs from 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM, so you're in and out well before the late-night crowd takes over. If you're coming from outside downtown, you'll find it right on West Second, a few blocks from the heart of the city. The music starts early, so you can catch the whole thing and still have your evening open.
