A bluegrass night featuring the local collective The Bluegrass Outfit at Radio Coffee & Beer.
The Bluegrass Outfit are playing Radio Coffee & Beer on Monday, September 14, starting at 7 PM. If you've been around the Austin scene for a while, the name might sound familiar, and for good reason: they're a loose association of bluegrass pickers from Austin and San Marcos who have played Radio Coffee & Beer every Monday night for 14 years. It's one of those local fixtures that just keeps going.
That long run puts them in a unique position. They've been playing the same room on the same night of the week since long before the venue itself opened. Radio Coffee & Beer first opened its doors in 2014, founded by local musician Jack Wilson. Since then, it's grown into one of the city's liveliest rooms, with a sprawling outdoor patio and a weekly program that ranges from bluegrass and trivia nights to outdoor cinema, alongside local and touring acts. The Bluegrass Outfit has been a part of that Monday night tradition since the beginning.

Wilson is an Austin native singer-songwriter, and he runs the coffee side of the business too—he bills his espresso as some of the best this side of the late Flipnotics. So if you're coming early, you can grab a drink before the music starts. The show is free, it kicks off at 7 PM, and it's at Radio Coffee & Beer (South), 4204 Menchaca Rd, Austin, TX 78704.
