Four days of queer film, music, drag and art with screenings, red carpets, a free night of music and a marketplace.
The Big Queer Weekend runs from September 24 to 27, with screenings at Galaxy Theatres and events spread across Drinks Backyard, Rain on 4th, and Hotel Indigo Austin Downtown. It's presented by aGLIFF and the Austin LGBT Chamber of Commerce, which has been the city's largest hub for LGBTQ+ and allied businesses since 1997.
The film side of things pairs award-winning independent titles from aGLIFF, Austin's LGBTQ+ film festival, and SXSW Film. There are six feature films and two shorts: The Best Little Tiny Park in Texas by local filmmaker Margaret Barry, Sht & Champagne, The Dads, Give Me the Ball!, Out Laws, and WICKET, plus Assembly* from aGLIFF's Queer Black Voices initiative. Screenings are paired with red carpets, filmmaker Q&As, and live conversations.
Beyond the cinema, the weekend takes in queer music and drag, a local artist and artisan marketplace, and parties. Saturday night's showcase is hosted by Maxine LaQueene & friends and is ASL accessible, with interpreters provided by Amber G Productions. The whole thing wraps up with a brunch and pool party.

Individual film programs are $20, and a general admission weekend film pass is $50. Saturday night's showcase is free, and the brunch and pool party is $10.
