The Accüsed bring crossover thrash, hardcore and horror punk to Kick Butt Coffee, with The 13th Victim, Bloodhammer, Pachuco Cabras and Worm Suicide.
The Accüsed A.D. play Kick Butt Coffee on Thursday, September 17, with The 13th Victim, Bloodhammer, Pachuco Cabras, and Worm Suicide filling out the bill. It's a five-band night that runs across crossover thrash, hardcore, and horror punk.
The Accüsed started in Seattle in 1981, right in the middle of the city's early hardcore scene. They spent the following years blending hardcore punk aggression with thrash metal intensity, and they're one of the underground acts that helped shape the crossover sound and influenced generations of heavier punk and metal. They called their style 'splatter rock,' and the Martha Splatterhead imagery became a hallmark of that era of extreme underground music. This show brings that crossover thrash and horror punk to Austin.
Joining them is Austin's own The 13th Victim, who bring a gritty, scarred-up punk attack to the bill. The rest of the lineup—Bloodhammer, Pachuco Cabras, and Worm Suicide—rounds out a night that leans heavily into the louder, faster end of the punk and metal spectrum. Kick Butt Coffee has long been a home for underground punk, hardcore, metal, horrorcore, and independent live music in the city, so this fits right in with the kind of bills they usually put together.
