Texas Tailgate for Big Bend

Texas Tailgate for Big Bend is happening at the Texas Parks & Wildlife Department Headquarters on Wednesday, August 19, starting at 11 AM. It's a gathering that brings Far West Texas to the Capitol City, drawing people together right before a TPWD Commission hearing to celebrate the state's public lands and ask the Commission to protect them.

The morning is built around sharing stories. Attendees are invited to talk about their own experiences in Big Bend, and the organizers will be filming #MyBigBendStory testimonials on-site. They're encouraging people to bring their reasons why these lands matter and what's at stake if they're lost, so if you've spent time out there, this is the place to put it on the record.

It's a public gathering, and there will be cold drinks on hand from @howteayall and @rambleraustin to keep things easy while people hang out and talk.
