A large pumpkin-themed festival featuring a Ferris wheel, professional wrestling, magic shows, a pumpkin patch and various family attractions.
Texas Pumpkin Fest is back at VFW Post 10427 in Leander, running from October 10 through November 1. It's open every Saturday and Sunday, plus October 12 and October 30, from 10 AM to 9 PM. It's grown into the Austin area's largest pumpkin festival, and this year professional wrestling is returning as a headline attraction.
There's a lot to do once you're inside. The rides include a 60-foot Ferris Wheel, a 135-foot Super Slide, a motorcycle carousel, and a Pirate Ship Ride. For the kids, there are train rides, pony rides, and a petting zoo. You'll also find a Mechanical Bull, axe throwing, and Pumpkin Smash'N. The pumpkin side of things is covered by a giant pumpkin patch and a 12-foot Pumpkin Arch. Between the rides, there are magic shows and the professional wrestling matches. Many of these attractions are included with paid admission.
Behind the scenes, the festival is run by CEO Scott Smith, who says the goal is to create a magical experience where families can unplug and build traditions they'll remember for years. The mascot is Stan the Pumpkin Man. Because it's held at VFW Post 10427, the festival also supports the local veteran community.
