Terri Hendrix returns to the stage with longtime collaborator and producer Lloyd Maines in a reinvigorated duo format.
Terri Hendrix and Lloyd Maines are playing The 04 Center on Saturday, July 25. It's a duo show, and for Hendrix, it's a return to the stage after taking eight months off in 2025 to focus on her health. She's back now, performing with Maines, her longtime producer and collaborator.
If you're not familiar with her work, Hendrix is one of those Texas songwriters who doesn't fit into one easy box. Acoustic Guitar named her one of the state's 20 essential contemporary singer-songwriters, and she's put out 20 albums—all on her own label, Wilory Records—that pull from folk, pop, country, blues, jazz, and spoken word/rap. This fall, she's marking the 30th anniversary of her 1996 debut, Two Dollar Shoes, with Pen to Paper - The Part that's Art, a 105-track retrospective that spans her entire career. Between the new retrospective and the early records, there's a lot of ground for a set to cover.
Maines is a Grammy-winning producer and steel-guitar player from Lubbock who's been recording and producing since 1974. He's played on or produced around 5,000 albums, and he's in both the Buddy Holly Walk of Fame and the Austin City Limits Hall of Fame. He's worked with Hendrix for years, and this show brings them together in a duo format.
