Taylor Graves performs a solo acoustica session at the Austin Country Club, blending new-school folk country and Americana.
Taylor Graves plays a solo acoustic set at Austin Country Club on Thursday, October 15. It's a stripped-back night, just her and her guitar, which puts her songwriting front and center.
Graves is an Austin-based singer-songwriter who describes her sound as new-school folk country and Americana, mixed with the soul of the classics and the grunge of rock and roll. She writes from her own life experiences and from the stories people share with her, so the songs tend to lean on the personal and the conversational.
When she isn't playing solo, she's in The Tombstone Trio, led by her partner and Austin native Lucas Johnson on fiddle, lead guitar and vocals, with Drew Preston on drums and percussion and Dave Groff on bass. That group has played American Idol and The Ryman Auditorium, and has supported Boy George, Sam Riggs, Cody Johnson, Kody West and Linda Gail Lewis. This show is different from those datesโno trio, no fiddle, just Graves on her own.

If you've seen her with the band, this is a good chance to hear her songs without the full arrangement around them. If you haven't, it's a straightforward way to get to know her songwriting. The show is at Austin Country Club on Thursday, October 15.
