Tanner Carlson, a singer-songwriter known for acoustic and pop performances, plays live at the Carousel Lounge.
Tanner Carlson plays the Carousel Lounge on Saturday, September 26, at 4 PM. He's an acoustic and pop singer-songwriter, and this is a solo set: just him, his acoustic guitar, and a loop pedal. If you've never seen a loop pedal in action, it's a small device that records a phrase he plays in real time and then plays it back on a loop, letting him layer melodies and rhythms over each other until he's essentially backing himself up. It's a way of building a full sound on a single stage without a band.
Carlson is 25, raised in the South and hailing from Austin, and he's been releasing music for about eight years now. He's put over half a million streams behind those recordings. He first broke into the live scene in Nashville, and since then he's built a presence online, playing more than 200 shows at venues like Tootsie's Orchid Lounge and the Cactus Cafe. These days he lives in New York, so this is a homecoming show back in his own city.
