Country singer-songwriter Sunny Sweeney performs live at Saxon Pub, presenting her album 'Married Alone'.
Sunny Sweeney plays the Saxon Pub on Friday, November 6, with her new album Married Alone as the focus of the night. It's a Texas country show in one of the city's most Texas country rooms, and the set will lean on the new material.
Sweeney has been a fixture of the Texas scene for two decades now. She debuted in 2006 with Heartbreaker's Hall of Fame and has been writing steadily ever since, often drawing from a deep vault of older songs she's kept in reserve. Married Alone is her fifth studio album, and it follows 2017's Trophy. Paul Cauthen and Beau Bedford co-produced the record, and it features a guest vocal from country legend Vince Gill.
She's a genre-bending singer-songwriter, and that's a good way to describe herβshe doesn't sit still in one corner of country. The new album comes from a long stretch of recording, and the show will be a chance to hear those songs live. Between the new tracks and the older ones she's known for, it's a full evening of her work.
