Psych rock band Strange Lot presents its self-titled album live at Hotel Vegas, with doors opening at 8pm.
Strange Lot plays Hotel Vegas & The Volstead Lounge on Saturday, September 5, for their self-titled album release show. It's a psych rock project led by singer and guitarist Dominic Mena, who started it as a bedroom recording project in Phoenix, Arizona, before moving to Austin in 2019. Since then, it's grown into a full band with drummer Cameron Martin and guitarist and synthesist Jason Desiderio.
The new album comes out through Greenway Records, produced by Alex Maas of The Black Angels, mixed by Jim Eno of Spoon, and mastered by Howie Weinberg. It expands on the band's blend of hypnotic rhythms, shimmering guitars, driving krautrock-influenced grooves, and hazy psychedelia. 2026 has been a breakthrough year for them: a KEXP live session recorded in Seattle, an official SXSW showcase, and a tour through Europe and the UK.
They've shared bills with The Jesus and Mary Chain, The Brian Jonestown Massacre, The Black Angels, Melody's Echo Chamber, Kikagaku Moyo, A Place to Bury Strangers, LA Witch, Boogarins, and Holy Wave. They've also played KEXP, SXSW, Fuzz Club Eindhoven, Levitation, Austin Psych Fest, and FLOOD Sessions. This show brings the new record to a live setting here in Austin.
