Still. Here. Now.

Andrea Ariel Dance Theatre brings Still. Here. Now. to the George Washington Carver Museum and Cultural Center on Friday, September 25, and Saturday, September 26, both nights starting at 8 PM. It's a multidisciplinary performance that follows last season's Here. Now., and it brings together a wide range of Austin dancers, choreographers, musicians and storytellers for an evening of dance, live music and storytelling.

The bill features new work by Anuradha Naimpally of Austin Dance India, Luis Ordaz Gutiérrez of Proyecto Teatro and Ciceley Fullylove. The live music is original, performed by Andy Nolte, Frederico Forte, Leila Louis Henley, Andrés Acevedo, Rey Arteaga and Rishi Bajekal. It's a big ensemble on stage, and the dance and music run together throughout the night.

At its core, the piece asks how identity is shaped by community, memory, ancestry and family, and what the American Dream means when you consider shared humanity rather than just individual success. The artists draw on intergenerational wisdom and mentorship, immigration and cultural memory, and the pursuit of self-worth. Artistic and producing director Andrea Ariel describes it as being about the stories we carry, individually and collectively. The work grew out of free Community Voices workshops that invited Austin residents to share their own stories, and it was supported in part by an Elevate grant from Austin Arts, Culture, Music and Entertainment.

Both performances are at the Boyd Vance Theater inside the Carver, 1165 Angelina Street, Austin, TX 78702. Reserved seating is $35, general admission is $25, and there's a $20 ticket for students, seniors, veterans and artists.
