Bi-monthly preschool program for ages 3-5 at the Wildflower Center.
Sprouts is back at the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center on Wednesday, October 14. It's a preschool program for kids ages 3 to 5, and it runs every other week, so if you've got a little one in that range, it's one of those things you can keep on the calendar rather than a one-off you have to scramble for.
Since it's a bi-monthly thing, the sessions are spaced out enough that they don't take over your whole week, but they're frequent enough to become a regular part of the routine. The program is built for the 3-to-5 crowd, which is that sweet spot where they're old enough to follow along and get their hands dirty, but still young enough that a morning spent outdoors is a big deal. The whole thing happens on the grounds of the Wildflower Center, so the setting is the point—getting kids out into the gardens and letting them interact with the plants and the space around them.
If you're not familiar with the venue, the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center is out in Austin, dedicated to the native plants of Texas. Having a preschool program there means the kids aren't just looking at pictures of nature; they're actually in it. It's a good fit for that age group, where a morning spent exploring a garden is a lot more engaging than sitting in a classroom.
