Live music night featuring Space Action Cowboy, Timothy Timebomb and Hope Irish at the historic Hole in the Wall venue. Free entry, 21+ only.
Space Action Cowboy, Timothy Timebomb, and Hope Irish play Hole in the Wall on Sunday, August 30. It's a three-act bill, with Hope Irish opening at 9:30 PM, Space Action Cowboy taking over at 10:30 PM, and Timothy Timebomb closing things out at 11:30 PM. Doors open at 9 PM, so there's a full hour to get settled before the first set.
If you've never spent much time there, Hole in the Wall is one of Austin's oldest venues. It opened in 1974 in the Campus area as a folkie hangout, and it was a favorite stage for Townes Van Zandt, Nanci Griffith, and Blaze Foley. Over the years it shifted toward punk, cosmic country, and alternative, and it launched the careers of Timbuk3, Fastball, Spoon, and Shakey Graves. It's a historic two-stage dive with a capacity of a couple hundred, and it still puts on live music every night. It's always been a shoestring effort—it briefly shuttered in 2002 and came close to being priced out in 2015—and it was named Readers Poll Dive Bar of 2026.
