A beginner-friendly painting workshop inspired by the Amazon, with craft beer, at Blue Owl Brewing. Free with food and beverage purchase.
Bella Aborigen and Austin Ale Trail are teaming up for Sour & Blossom, an Amazon-inspired painting workshop at Blue Owl Brewing on Saturday, August 8. It runs from 2 PM to 4 PM, with doors opening at 1:45 PM, so you've got a little buffer to grab a drink before things get started.
The workshop is built around the wildlife of the Amazon—the flowers, fruits, butterflies, birds, and animals that make the region so distinct. It's pitched as relaxed and beginner-friendly: you pick either a cotton tote bag or a mini canvas to paint, follow guided instruction with templates, and take home whatever you finish. All the supplies are provided, so you don't need to bring a thing.
There's more going on than just the painting. The afternoon doubles as a launch party for Blue Owl Brewing's Fruited Little Boss, a sour huckleberry beer, and a pop-up shop of handmade accessories by Bella Aborigen, embroidered by Peruvian artisans. Bella Aborigen is an artist whose nature-inspired work celebrates the Amazon through botanical illustrations, and Austin Ale Trail is the organization that connects craft beer lovers with local breweries across Central Texas; members can collect a stamp on their passport for the visit.
