Live music night featuring Soul Exchange, Opium Den, Bail Out, and Glockoma at the historic Brushy Street Commons venue in East Austin.
Soul Exchange are playing Brushy Street Commons on Thursday, October 1, and they're doing it as a video shoot. That means they'll be filming their set, so you'll be part of the crowd in the background. Joining them on the bill are Opium Den, Bail Out, and Glockoma.
The venue is worth a bit of its own mention. Brushy Street Commons occupies the sound stage of the historic 501 Studios building in East Austin, a room that serves food, drinks, and daytime vibes before turning into a live event space at night. It's a spot with a lot of local history: over more than thirty years, it's been the set of countless national commercials, and Austin legends like Stevie Ray Vaughan and Willie Nelson filmed music videos here. Universal Pictures outfitted the soundstage for the 1981 film Raggedy Man, starring Sissy Spacek and Eric Roberts, and for more than a decade, every Texas Lottery drawing that named weekly millionaires was drawn and broadcast from that room. Now it's a place where you can grab a drink and watch a show in the same space that's seen all that pass through it.

Doors open at 7 PM, and the music runs from 8 PM to 11:49 PM. The night is open to all ages, so it's an easy one to bring friends along to. With Soul Exchange filming their set, it's a bit more than a standard night outāyou'll be in the room while they capture the performance on camera. Between the four acts on the bill, there's plenty to keep you there for the full run.
