Guided ceramics workshop to create a charcuterie tray; for ages 16 and over.
The Art Garage on North Lamar is hosting a Snack Tray Clay Workshop on Saturday, August 8, a guided ceramics session where you'll make your own charcuterie board from scratch. It's a hands-on class, so you'll be working with clay throughout the session rather than just watching a demonstration.
The focus is a snack tray—basically a platter designed for cheese, meats, and crackers—which makes it a practical project you can actually use once it's finished. Because it's a guided workshop, there's an instructor there to walk you through the process, which is a good way to get into ceramics if you've never worked with clay before. You'll start with the raw material and shape it into a tray, and the instructor will be on hand to help with the technique as you go.

One thing to keep in mind is that this is for ages 16 and up, so it's not a kids' class. If you're looking for something to do on a Saturday afternoon in Austin, this is a low-pressure way to spend a few hours making something with your hands. The workshop is on August 8 at The Art Garage, North Lamar.
