A guided clay workshop where participants create a custom charcuterie snack tray, suitable for ages 16 and over.
The Art Garage Oak Hill is hosting a Snack Plate Clay Workshop this Sunday, August 9, from 3 PM to 5 PM. It's a guided class where you'll make your own custom charcuterie snack tray from scratch, so you'll walk out with something you can actually use for your next get-together.
The whole point of the workshop is the snack tray itself. You'll work with clay to shape a platter designed for a charcuterie spread—think cheeses, meats, crackers, and whatever else you like to put out when people come over. Since it's a guided session, you'll have a teacher walking you through the process, which is a good thing if you've never touched clay before. You don't need to bring your own tools or come with a background in ceramics; the class is built around getting you from a lump of clay to a finished piece in a single afternoon.
It's a hands-on project, so you'll be doing the shaping and refining yourself rather than just watching a demo. Because it's a custom tray, you can put your own spin on the size and style, making it something that fits how you actually serve snacks. By the time the two hours are up, you'll have a one-of-a-kind piece that's yours to keep.
