A yoga session with slow flow practice followed by a restorative sound bath of singing bowls, part of the 'Yoga & Sound' series.
Karlie Lemos leads a slow flow yoga session and sound bath at the Moody Amphitheater in Waterloo Park on Monday, September 28, from 6 to 7 PM. It's free to the community, so you just need to bring your own mat.
This particular class is part of the Yoga & Sound series, which runs every Monday at Waterloo Park from September 14 through November 2, with the exception of October 19. The series is presented in partnership with Castle Hill Fitness and changes every week: each session is led by a different instructor, and the styles shift from energizing vinyasa flows to gentle yoga and restorative sound healing. Every class closes with a restorative sound bath of gongs, crystal bowls, guitar, and chimes.
Lemos' session is an all-levels, slow and nourishing flow that leads into an extended savasana carried by singing bowls. If you're not used to the terminology, savasana is the final resting pose where you lie flat on your back and let everything settle—the singing bowls take over from there, so the sound bath is the part you actually get to lie down and listen to.

If you miss this one, the series keeps going through the fall. The final class on November 2 is a bilingual English and Spanish DĂa de los Muertos Celebration Yoga with live Mariachi music. Until then, the sessions run every Monday at the Moody Amphitheater, 6 to 7 PM, free to the community—just remember to bring your mat.
