Six Foot Blonde - Spit It Out Tour

Six Foot Blonde bring their Spit It Out tour to Hotel Vegas & The Volstead Lounge on Friday, September 25, with special guest Judy Blank. The Chicago-based six-piece plays a blend of indie pop and rock, and they're coming through Austin as part of a national run.

They've got a bit of a pandemic origin story: the band formed in 2020 as an IU college cover band in Bloomington, Indiana, and since then they've become a mainstay on the touring circuit. Frontwoman Julia Rusyniak handles the vocals and the lyrics, which she describes as deeply personal, and she's backed by a mix of indie-rock slide guitar, synth, and three-part harmonies. The Spit It Out tour follows their 2024 release Ask Me How I Am, and the band describes the set as the dance-worthy, indie-pop sound fans have been asking for.

They've spent the last couple of years on the road, touring nationally with The Nude Party and playing festivals like Summerfest and Paperfest. Critics have called them one of the Midwest's most exciting emerging acts, and this stop in Austin is part of that ongoing momentum. Judy Blank opens the night, so there are two acts on the bill.
