Beginner-friendly stained glass workshop where students assemble and solder a spiderweb suncatcher with a hanging spider charm, led by Deke Cameron.
Deke Cameron is hosting a beginner-friendly stained glass workshop at Meanwhile Brewing Co. on Tuesday, October 13, from 6 to 9 PM. Over the course of three hours, you'll assemble and solder a stained glass spiderweb suncatcher with a hanging spider charm, and pick up the basics of lead-came construction and soldering as you go. It's designed for beginners, so you don't need any prior experience to walk in and make something.
Cameron, who goes by the name The Glass Clown, is a local stained glass artist and teacher with years of experience working with students of all levels. He's also a member artist at ContraCommon, an Austin non-profit that promotes the arts and emerging artists. The project is supported in part by an Elevate Grant from Austin Arts, Culture, Music, & Entertainment.
