Sip + Solder Pumpkins and Footballs: Stained Glass Workshop

Deke Cameron is leading a stained-glass workshop at Meanwhile Brewing Co. on Tuesday, September 15, from 6 PM to 9 PM. It's a beginner-friendly class where you'll assemble and solder your own suncatcher—you get to choose between a pumpkin or a football, so it works whether you're leaning into the fall decor or the football season. The finished piece can hang in a window as a suncatcher or be repurposed as a garden stake.

Over the course of the evening, Cameron walks you through the basics of lead-came construction and the soldering techniques that make the craft what it is. You'll be working with stained glass, fitting the pieces together and soldering the seams to hold them in place. No prior experience is needed, and all skill levels are welcome, so you don't need to have ever touched a soldering iron to jump in.

The session is open to ages 14 and up, and minors have to be supervised by a participating parent or guardian. It's a four-hour class, so you'll have plenty of time to work through the process without rushing. All materials are included in the price, which means you just show up and get to work.

Tickets are $80 per student, or $140 for two seats if you bring a friend. The class runs from 6 PM to 9 PM at Meanwhile Brewing Co. in Austin.
