The SFC Farmers' Market Downtown is back at Republic Square this Saturday, September 19, and it's one of those Austin traditions that's been around long enough to feel like part of the neighborhood. It's been running since 2003, and it's the anchor of the Sustainable Food Center's market system—the one they call the queen bee.
On any given Saturday, you'll find around 40 vendors gathered in the square. That includes local farmers, ranchers, food producers, and artisans, all selling ethically and locally sourced fresh produce and specialty goods. The market champions seasonal eating, so what you'll find on the tables changes as the months roll by. It's a good place to pick up whatever's in season right now in Central Texas.
