Sentimental Family Band

Sentimental Family Band plays Sam's Town Point on Saturday, July 18, at 9 PM. They're an Austin-based act, so this is a hometown show in South Austin.

If you haven't come across them yet, they've been on the local radar for a while. KUTX named them Artist of the Month back in March 2024 and included them in Austin Music Month, with the station covering their live shows and the release of their LP. The set will be their own material, and they're the only act on the bill.

Sam's Town Point is one of those venues that's a bit of a hidden gem in the city. It's tucked away in a wooded neighborhood beyond Slaughter and Manchaca, and it's often described as Austin's least visible venue geographically. Over the years, it's become a significant south pole of the city's musical axis, drawing crowds deep into South Austin rather than keeping everything centered around the downtown core. It's the kind of spot you have to know about to find, which fits the low-key, neighborhood feel of the area.
