Secret Level: Stand-Up Show

Secret Level Comedy is back at Alamo Drafthouse Mueller on Friday, October 9, with a stand-up show running from 8 PM to 9:30 PM. If you've spent any time following the comedy scene here, you know the names that usually anchor the city's big rooms: Comedy Mothership, Kill Tony, SXSW, and Don't Tell Comedy. The room bills itself as a way to catch the same comics who play those stages without having to head downtown.

The venue itself is a bit of a hidden spot. Secret Level is an intimate, carnival-themed bar tucked inside the Mueller Alamo Drafthouse, which is one of the city's iconic movie theaters. Because it's part of the Drafthouse, there's a full kitchen menu to order from, and unlike a lot of comedy clubs, there's no drink minimum to worry about. It's a smaller, more contained space than the big stages downtown, so you're closer to the action.

The lineup for this particular night hasn't been confirmed yet, so we don't have a list of names to point to just yet. The draw here is the usual rotation—the kind of comics who move between the Mothership and the other big Austin rooms. If you've been keeping up with who's playing the major stages lately, this is where you'll likely find them on a Friday night when they aren't downtown.

Doors open at 7:30 PM, and the show runs from 8 PM to 9:30 PM. Tickets are $15 online and $20 at the door, so grabbing yours in advance saves you a few bucks. It's a short set, just ninety minutes, and since it's inside the Drafthouse, you can eat while you watch.
