Vendor market with ice cream scoops benefiting Local Queer ATX, part of the Local Queer Ice Cream Social Pride-weekend gathering.
Scoop of Love is back at Amy's Ice Creams on Sunday, August 23, from 11 AM to 3 PM. It's part of the Local Queer Ice Cream Social, a Pride-weekend gathering that brings together a few different things in one spot. You can grab a scoop from the shop or food from Phil's and then wander through a vendor market, with Local Queer receiving 20% of the proceeds from both. It's the kind of afternoon where you can hang out, browse some local makers, and know your ice cream is going toward a good cause.
The venue is the Amy's on South Lamar, a long-running Austin staple that's been collecting awards for years. It took home the Austin Chronicle Readers Poll for Dessert in 2026 and 2025, and the Dish - Ice Cream/Frozen Treat award in 2024, with a string of honors going back to 1990. This isn't a one-off for them, either. They've hosted similar events before, including a Dyke March Ice Cream Fundraiser and a Scoop of Love back in August 2025, so they know how to handle a crowd coming in for a fundraiser.
