Old-time radio comedy telling spooky and macabre stories in the style of classic Halloween radio shows.
Saratoga Lights LIVE! is coming to ColdTowne Theater on Saturday, October 24, for a night of old-time radio comedy. It's a live production of the show, which tells spooky and macabre stories in the style of classic Halloween radio programs.
If you're not familiar with the format, it's exactly what it sounds like: a radio play performed in front of a live audience. The stories lean into the eerie and the macabre, and the whole thing is played for laughs, so it's more about the comedy than the horror. It's the kind of thing that works best when you're in the room with it, and since it's a live show, you'll get to see how the sound effects and the timing come together on stage.
It's a Halloween-themed night, and with the date falling on October 24, it fits right into the season. If you've ever had a fondness for those old-school radio dramas—the ones with the dramatic voices and the carefully timed sound effects—this is that, just done live and with a comedic twist. It's a good way to get into the spirit of the month without needing to leave town.
